What is Choose and Book?

  

 

Since the summer of 2004, Choose and Book has been introduced across England. Research evidence supports easy access to professional practice increases early detection and management of many health conditions and an opportunity to access therapy for most families.

We provide opportunity for you or your distant families to set up suitable health care package for loved ones even though they are not physically present.

Most clients, who want to be more involved in making decisions and choosing their healthcare, view the experience as positive and valuable. The Consortium services are tailored to your needs by enabling choice and flexibility in care given and how you are treated.

Choose and Book allows you to choose from a range of services provided as well as choose a convenient date and time for your first outpatient appointment to see a specialist.

 

 

 

The benefits of Choose and Book:

    • You can choose from list of professionals as preferred.
    • You can also choose the date and time for your appointment.
    • You experience greater convenience and certainty.
    • With Choose and Book, once you have made your payment your booking is confirmed and the choice is yours
    • There is less chance that information will get lost in the post because more correspondence takes place through computers.
 

 

 

What does Choose and Book mean for me?

As well as giving you a choice of professionals, date and time for your appointment, Choose and Book will also give you the ability to:

  • plan and manage around your existing appointments.
  • if you are currently undergoing treatment, you can plan towards your discharge period
  • fit your treatment in with your other commitments, at home and at work
  • choose appointments that fit with your home carer’s schedule
  • check the status of your referral and to change or cancel your appointments easily over the phone or on the internet.
 
 

 

How does Choose and Book work?

When you and or your practitioner agree that you need an appointment with a specialist, Choose and Book shows you which professionals and clinics are available for your treatment.  You can also independently decide the clinically appropriate therapy options which are available for treating your medical condition.

If you know where and when you would like to be seen, you may be able to book your appointment before online.  Your appointment will be confirmed, indicating the address of place you have given, date and time of your appointment.

You may want more time to consider your choices. If so, you can take the appointment request letter away with you and book your appointment later.

In some cases you will need to telephone your chosen professional directly to make your appointment. This is because the preferred time may not be available on the Choose and Book appointment availability list.

 
 

How do I book for my consultation and or assessment?

Individual self-referral and booking accepted from anyone over 18 years old.

Customer Care Standards

 

We have introduced a new set of customer care standards that cover things such as how quickly we should answer the phone or reply to your letters.

The key standards are:

·      We aim to serve 80 per cent of customers that visit our website and any report filed at any of your local  Customer Care Centres within 14 working days.
·      If you email our Care Service Team, we aim to respond within 10 working days.
·       For all other emails, we aim to respond by the end of the working day.
·       We will always progress your enquiry or complaint.
·       You will always be given a warm and enthusiastic welcome.
·       We will always check that you are satisfied with the service we provided.
·       All of our staff are fully trained customer service professionals, they will help you with any  service enquiry, complaint or suggestion.  
·       We will provide you with up-to-date information about your enquiry or complaint promptly.
·       We will always be sensitive to your needs and do our best to ensure that you can make the best use of our service.
